It was in 1568, precisely in Duruelo where the first convent of The Barefooted Carmelites was born. The Hotel Chain with the purpose of making homage to Saint John of the Cross together with Saint Theresa of Jesus baptized its Villa de Leyva Inn with the name “Duruelo”, a dual-purpose harmonious place where the comfort and rest that you deserve are recreated.
